How To Prepare For Your Visit

DexaFit Body Scan

  1. Limit exercise before your scan (no hypertrophy training less than 6 hours before scan).

  2. Come in as hydrated as normal.

  3. Please fast for at least 2 hours prior to your scan.

  4. Please wear clothes with limited metal. Small buttons or zippers that cannot be removed from clothing are fine.

  5. You will be asked to empty your pockets and remove any significant amounts of metal (watch, belt, glasses, jewelry, etc.)

  6. Please wear socks!

  7. Do not have any gastrointestinal contrast, barium or other contrast medium, or radionuclides within 48 hours of your appointment.

VO2 Max Fitness Test

  1. Avoid large meals a couple of hours before the test as it is physically demanding.

  2. Limit physical activity before your visit, fresh muscles provide the best performance data.

  3. Refrain from taking any caffeine or stimulants the day of your test (unless you normally perform cardio exercise while caffeinated).

  4. Wear (or bring) workout clothes and athletic shoes

  5. This test is done on a treadmill or bike (10-15 minutes typically).

RMR Metabolism Test

  1. For best results, FAST for a minimum of 5 hours (only drink water) before test.

  2. Limit your activity beforehand, and avoid exercise within 12 hours of test.

  3. Refrain from taking any caffeine or stimulants the day of your test.

  4. Avoid alcohol within 12 hours before test.

  5. Wear comfortable clothing. Workout, casual, or even business clothes are all acceptable, as you will just be relaxing in a chair.

Red Light Therapy

  1. Drink plenty of water before and after your session to help support cellular function and enhance the body's response to treatment.

  2. Avoid excessive makeup and don't apply any oils, lotions or moisturizers to your skin within an hour before your appointment as these can prevent the light from penetrating.

  3. You have the option to stand or sit for the duration of your session. There is a sweet spot for treatment with red light. The maximum amount of time you should expose your body to this concentrated red light is 15-20 minutes a day.

  4. Wear comfortable light clothing such as shorts, tank-top, sports bra or bathing suit for your session. You can choose to fully undress for this service.

  5. Eye protection will be provided and is required.
